The Beko DFN05R11W is a good full-size dishwasher for anyone looking for affordability, and a decent number of modes but not all the bells and whistles of the upmarket brands like Miele or Bosch. It comes in a choice of white, silver, or black colour schemes.

Effectively, you get what you pay for here, for better or worse. What this means is that these types of models won’t likely last as long as another brand with a price tag that’s double (or several times) the price. Therefore, expect to need to replace these dishwashers every few years. However, even accounting for this, they still offer excellent value for money.

The control panel at the top is positioned on the left side. It is a simple push-button affair with a turn dial to select the mode required. There are buttons to opt for a half-load and a start/stop button. Also, there are indicator lights to confirm a running cycle, when the machine is washing, drying, or the cycle has ended. Furthermore, there are lights to indicate either low salt or low rinse aid levels.

The front control panel has an ON/OFF button to the far left and the main controls all on the right side. The turn dial knob accesses the different modes like Eco at 50 degrees, Quick, Glass, Intensive, etc. There’s also an LED display that sets this model apart from lesser ones without a display at all. To the far right is the Start timer setting – yes, there’s a timer too – along with an Extra Dry and Vario Speed feature.

The model comes with three baskets include a top cutlery one, a secondary one for small glasses and other low-height items, and a lower tray for plates, bowls, pans, and other larger items. The baskets support a total of 13 settings, including one as the glassware. They’re also adjustable to allow more space for big plates and tall glassware too.

The Indesit DFG15b1 isn’t easy to say fast three times, but they do have an economy model that aims to outdo Beko’s one.

It doesn’t have an LED display either, so you’re relying on a dial knob to select between different washing modes for your plates, bowls, glassware, and cutlery. Not that we were too worried, but the model also has flood protection too.

There are indicator lights for different stages of a dishwashing cycle. The usual Eco, Quick, Glassware, Pre-Rinse, and Intensive modes are all present and correct. A quick wash only needs 40 minutes when there’s minimal plate soiling. There’s also a useful indicator when the salt or rinse aid needs topping up too.

The two baskets, along with a cutlery one allow for 13 place settings. This is spacious enough for big pots and larger plates, facilitated by baskets with adjustable levels.

The A+ energy rating is on par with Beko’s model. It emits 49 decibels when running. It’s also several kilos heavier than the Beko model, so moving it around is slightly more difficult for small-framed buyers.

This Indesit DFG15b1 has plenty of people who love it. It’s comparable to the Beko model in many ways and has some extras like adjustable baskets too.
