We’re happy to have other writers and website owners contribute to Home Appliance Geek, but we have a set of criteria and submission guidelines below that we request you read before sending us your pitch.
Please note: We have included a specific instruction within our guidelines to use when reaching out to us. Anyone who fails to include this will be ignored!
Rule #1: Content must be relevant
We’re looking for content relevant to the home appliance niche that is both engaging and unique. It must also be aimed at a UK audience.
Types of content within this niche includes:
- ‘How-to’ guides for home appliance
- Interior design
- Cleaning
- DIY
- Home life hacks
If you would like to submit a post which falls outside of the topics listed above, then we are happy to discuss this further.
At a minimum we would ask you to consider if your topic would feel relevant to visitors of Home Appliance Geek, and wouldn’t look out of place on our website.
Rule #2: We have some basic editorial requirements
Any submissions must pass the following editorial requirements:
- All content submitted must be at least 1,000 words in length
- Content should be written in clear English and of (at least) a similar quality to other content present on Home Appliance Geek
- Any images used should be original photographs, free to use, or have been given consent to use by the original owner. Please also make sure any images used are at least 1000px wide and the files are attached to your email when submitting
- All content will be run through a UK version of Grammarly. Please check your content through this first as extensive formatting and grammar checking may result in the post being rejected
Rule #3: Links must be relevant and useful
You are welcome to add as many links as you wish, so long as they are relevant in the context of the article.
We encourage adding links where helpful. Links help back up any claims made and provide the reader with opportunities for further reading.
Links to Adult, Drug or Gambling niches will be stripped out. Any blatant link placements that don’t make sense in the context of the overall article will also be removed.
We also prefer you do not include an author profile with the guest post, and instead recommend you link to your website naturally within the body content.
What should I expect of Home Appliance Geek once my post is submitted?
Home Appliance Geek retains the rights to any guest content that is accepted and published.
We don’t allow republishing of submitted content on any other website, including your own website. Doing so could be harmful to SEO for both parties!
We may decide to make minor tweaks to the post to ensure it fits within the website tone and content. This may include changes to the title (for SEO, style or just to make it more attention-grabbing) and any grammar and language improvements which may be necessary.
Although we rarely remove content from our website, we do occasionally prune old content if it is no longer relevant or useful to us. We can guarantee that any posts published on our website will remain live for a minimum of 12 months.
